DaCE Cumbria has been supporting disabled people in Cumbria since 1999. As a not-for-profit charity all our funds are spent on providing services and support for disabled people, to help them maintain their independence. We have offices in Carlisle & Barrow and our staff work across Eden, South Lakeland, Allerdale & Copeland.
If you are disabled and live in Carlisle or Eden you can access our free benefits advice service, which includes help with appeals, tribunals and a home visiting service. Our Cumbria Centre for Independent Living in Carlisle stocks new & used daily living aids and adaptations, which you can use a prescription for, or buy. Our extensive stock includes wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters. We can also recycle disability aids that you no longer need.
DaCE Cumbria supports adults & children using direct payments or personal health budgets; and people who pay for care privately. We offer a payroll service, assistance to recruit or manage staff, training for personal assistants, a third party account management service and DBS criminal record checks. Our experienced staff are always on hand to help, so that you can get the best out of living independently.
