DaCE Cumbria has been supporting disabled people in Cumbria since 1999. As a not-for-profit charity all our funds are spent on providing services and support for disabled people, to help them maintain their independence. We have an office in Carlisle and our staff work across Barrow-in-Furness, Eden, South Lakeland, Allerdale & Copeland.
DaCE Cumbria supports adults & children using direct payments or personal health budgets; and people who pay for care privately. We offer a payroll service, assistance to recruit or manage staff, training for personal assistants, a third party account management service and DBS criminal record checks. Our experienced staff are always on hand to help, so that you can get the best out of living independently.
If you are disabled and live in Carlisle or Eden you can access our free benefits advice service, which includes help with appeals, tribunals and a home visiting service. Our Cumbria Centre for Independent Living in Carlisle stocks new & used daily living aids and adaptations, which you can use a prescription for, or buy. Our extensive stock includes wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters. We can also recycle disability aids that you no longer need.
