The Disabled Facilities grant fund is a Government fund that helps disabled people to improve their homes, so they can live safely and independently. The grant can be used towards the costs of home adaptations such as stair-lifts, level access showers, wet rooms, winches, grab rails and ramps. In December 2020 the Government announced that it would invest an extra £68 million in the fund, so more disabled people could access it. District Council’s administer the scheme in Cumbria.
